The Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Dr. Nenad Ivanišević, along with his associates, met with the Director of the Tourism Organization of the City of Subotica, Božidarka Golubović. They discussed ongoing economic and tourism projects across the territory of Subotica, as well as upcoming participation in regional and international fairs—most notably the international tourism fairs in Novi Sad and Thessaloniki.

Secretary Ivanišević and Director Golubović addressed the intensification of local tourism and business activities, largely driven by the launch of the Novi Sad – Subotica high-speed railway in early October. According to Ms. Golubović, the new high-speed rail line has brought a significant influx of travelers—both transit visitors and those choosing to stay in Subotica. This surge highlights the growing demand for local hospitality and accommodation services, an important topic that will remain a key focus in the coming period.

The Provincial Secretary invited the Tourism Organization to showcase Subotica’s potential and resources at upcoming fairs supported by the Secretariat, including the Novi Sad and Thessaloniki exhibitions, both set to take place just a week apart this November.

Secretary Ivanišević emphasized that participating in these prominent regional events is invaluable for Subotica’s tourism sector, offering a prime platform to promote the rich tourism offer of Subotica, Lake Palić, and the entire North Bačka District to a broader international audience.

The meeting was also attended by Acting Deputy Secretary Slavoljub Arsenijević and Acting Assistant Provincial Secretary Milan Jarić, MSc.
