Subotica and Palić lake continuing tourism boom

Tourism in Subotica and Palić has maintained its outstanding momentum throughout the first six months of 2026. According to the latest official data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the January–June period saw over 79,000 tourist arrivals and more than 180,000 overnight stays, continuing an upward growth trend.

During the first half of the year, Subotica registered 65,156 tourist arrivals—a 7.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Overnight stays reached 147,790, marking a 9.0% rise over the January–June 2025 figures.

Meanwhile, Palić recorded 14,116 arrivals and 32,443 overnight stays, reflecting a 5.9% year-over-year increase.

“These numbers reaffirm Subotica and Palić as top destinations in Serbia. We are particularly thrilled by the steady increase in overnight stays, which shows that our visitors are choosing to stay longer. The continuous enhancement of our tourism offerings, a rich calendar of events, and excellent travel connectivity are all driving this success, and we look forward to an even stronger summer season ahead,” stated Božidarka Golubović, Director of the Tourist Organization of the City of Subotica.
