During the city’s rapid development in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Subotica was enriched with numerous eclectic buildings inspired by the Italian Renaissance, Neo-Baroque, and early Art Nouveau design. Among these, the Vojnić Palace holds a special place as an iconic and highly original landmark.
Built in 1893 for Máté Bajsai Vojnić, the palace was designed by the master builder János Jedlička from Budapest. The fact that its creator was a master builder rather than a formally trained architect makes this structure even more unique within Subotica’s architectural landscape.
