Nestled in one of the most tranquil and picturesque parts of Palić, tucked between Splitska Alley and a beautifully landscaped woodland promenade, lies the Chapel of Mary, Queen of the World—a serene spiritual oasis dedicated to prayer and quiet reflection.
Just steps away, embraced by a lush pine forest, stands the Church of St. Pope Urban. The site’s story began in 1892 when the Vissi family from Budapest built a grand mausoleum here, which over time evolved into a vibrant sanctuary for the entire community.
Originally dedicated to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the church was later renamed in honor of Mary, Queen of the World when the parish became independent. Adjacent to it, the original structure was transformed into the Church of St. Pope Urban, which today serves as the parish office and a welcoming center for regular Holy Masses and religious services.
Today, the Chapel of Mary, Queen of the World remains open throughout the day as a peaceful sanctuary for silence, personal devotion, and meditation, while the entire church complex stands as a captivating piece of Palić’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
